Today, Wendale Collins signed a full football scholarship with Howard University in Washington D.C. Howard University is one of the most prestigious private colleges in the U.S. Howard University's team is called the Bisons. The head coach of the Bisons, Carey Bailey, is entering his third season as Head Football Coach at Howard. The teamranked high in the nation in time of possession.

Wendale has been playing football since 5th grade and is currently a running back for the Broncos. A football player playing the position of running back carries the ball on most running plays and is also frequently used as a short-yardage receiver. This position is usually given to the fastest players on the team. Wendale wants to major in pharmacy and his goal is to be the best person he can be. Collins' coaches describe him as a hard working, intelligent individual. His teammates say that Wendale is a humble, kind, committed teammate and friend. They also call him "full of character."

Wendale’s advice for his underclassman teammates is to not give up. While saying goodbye to his high school, Wendale says he will be gone but not forgotten. We at Hoofprints congratulate him and wish him the best of luck. We know he ’ll do well.
