Agent Smelly

The janitor is a secret agent.

I remember when I first heard Mr. Smelly’s name. Something in me did a double take. I wondered if that was really his name or maybe just a code name for when the toilets would plug and it would get well... smelly. Think about it. It would be an awesome code name for a school custodian.
The more I’ve walked through these often crowded hallways, the more I’ve seen Mr. Smelly. He’s everywhere: the hallways, the lunchroom, and even the athletic facility. He’s always fixing something, carrying something, or on a mission of some sort, it seems. He is almost like Mr. Watts sometimes. I could almost swear to you that if anybody knows everything about Zachary High School, it would have to be Mr. Smelly.
It makes me wonder what all he’s seen. I’m sure he’s caught plenty of students breaking the rules or with their cell phones out. And yet, he doesn’t really ever say anything, at least to the students. Any time any teacher has a question, it seems like Mr. Smelly knows the answer. It’s almost like he’s the god of the school. He can unlock just about anything and can get into any nook and cranny our school has.
One day, I was talking to some fellow classmates and for some reason we started talking about Mr. Smelly. Someone threw around the idea that he could be a CIA agent- Agent Smelly. Think about it. He’s got access to everything in the school, he’s everywhere, no one would question him as to what he is doing. He would be perfect.
But I have a better persona in mind: Superman. He’s the modern day Clark Kent. Honest working custodian by day, saving lives by night. Couldn’t you just see him zooming through the air and swooping in to save the day? Granted, I don’t think spandex would be the outfit for him by any means, but a cape would definitely improve upon his look.
I’m convinced. Mr. Smelly is definitely an amazing school custodian, and it would be great if he really was a CIA agent or Superman. Something in me doubts that my imagination will ever come true. It’s just fine by me if he is still just the same hard working school janitor we all have come to love. Mr. Smelly is one of the finest workers we have and we should appreciate him and the rest of the custodial staff, regardless of their superhero status. But I definitely think that Mr. Smelly still needs a cape
